Escape to Malta Eats was created from a love of Maltese food, culture, and tradition, and a passion for sharing it with Australia. Australian born and bred but Maltese at heart, I speak, read, and write Maltese fluently. Malta has always been my second home. Before the pandemic, I ran tours of the islands under the banner Escape to Malta, showing visitors the beauty, flavours, and traditions of Maltese life.

As a qualified pastry chef, I wanted to bring those flavours home. In March 2020, I registered a home-based business with a fully equipped kitchen and storage facilities, and that is how Escape to Malta Eats was born.

Today, we specialise in authentic Maltese food and gifts delivered across Australia. From handmade biscuits, pastizzi, and traditional Maltese sweets to pantry items and unique gifts, every product is chosen with care to celebrate the taste and spirit of Malta. Customers can enjoy freshly baked classics and artisan treats that have been loved for generations, all made to bring the flavours of Malta directly to your table.

Behind it all is Joanne, pastry chef and owner, passionate about baking and cooking for over 34 years. She combines professional culinary training with a lifelong love of Maltese food to create authentic recipes and artisan baked goods. Escape to Malta Eats began with leading cultural tours of Malta, sharing the islands’ beauty, culture, and cuisine, and has evolved into a food journey that brings the tastes and traditions of Malta directly to your door.
